Welcome to Trinity U.M.C.
Pastors and Staff
Rev. Dr. Son Xuan Nguyen Pastor Monalisa Siofele Lolohea Rev. Dr. Dale K. Smith
We are grateful and excited to announce the appointment of Rev. Dr. Son Nguyen as of August 2019. Pastor Son serves the Vietnamese Language ministry and is a man of faith, hope, and prayer. His journey has brought him back to Trinity UMC Pomona where he began many years ago. Rev. Dr. Son Nguyen also serves as the Senior Vice-President Emeritus of Union University of California, a non-denominational, comprehensive, Christian online univeristy. Its headquarter is located in Westminister, California. Since 1986, UUC has been a leader in educating and equipping individuals for impact in ministries and the marketplace. Pastor Son and his lovely wife, a renowned pianist bring new vision, leadership training, a wealth of knowledge, and spiritual guidance the pastoral team as we navigate as One Body in Christ.
Pastor Monalisa Siofele Lolohea is a motivator, encourager, and prayer warrior who challenges the English Language ministry to live beyond its borders and comfort zones. She is a graduate of the University of the Pacific in Stockton, CA and earned her Masters in Education (MAEd) from the University of Phoenix (Honolulu) in 2006. She taught high schoolers at her alma mater, Waipahu High School, and was named one of the first 16 teachers in a pilot program, Freedom Writers Teachers, with Education Advocate and Teacher, Erin Gruwell. She also earned her Master of Divinity (MDiv) from the Claremont School of Theology and complete her Doctorate in Ministry (DMin) degree in May 2020. Pastor Monalisa also serves as the Conference Coordinator for the Young People's Council (YPC) for the California-Pacific Conference and was appointed this role in October 2018. Together, she and her clergy husband, Pastor Langi Lolohea of San Dimas UMC, love to worship God through music, dance, and cultural gifts. Their most favorite joy is spending time with their daughter, Faiana Su'esolo, and traveling to share the Gospel message as an "ohana" (family).
Rev. Dr. Dale K. Smith is pastor emeritus and a retired clergy. He is a strong support and continues to provide leadership, guidance, and support to all pastors and laity. We are blessed to have him with us, and look forward to forging new partnerships both within and outside of the TUMC circles.
