Welcome to Trinity U.M.C.
Pastors and Staff
Rev. Dr. Son Xuan Nguyen Pastor Dr. Monalisa S. Lolohea Rev. Dr. Dale K. Smith-Emeritus
We are grateful and excited to announce the appointment of Rev. Dr. Son Nguyen as of August 2019. Rev. Dr. Nguyen serves the Vietnamese Language ministry and is a man of faith, hope, and prayer. His journey has brought him back to Trinity UMC Pomona where he began many years ago. Rev. Dr. Son Nguyen also serves as the Senior Vice-President Emeritus of Union University of California, a non-denominational, comprehensive, Christian online univeristy. Its headquarter is located in Westminister, California. Since 1986, UUC has been a leader in educating and equipping individuals for impact in ministries and the marketplace. Pastor Son and his lovely wife, a renowned pianist bring new vision, leadership training, a wealth of knowledge, and spiritual guidance the pastoral team as we navigate as One Body in Christ.
Pastor Dr. Monalisa Lolohea is serving her fourth year as pastor for the English language at Trinity UMC Pomona. She is married to Pastor Langi Lolohea, the pastor at both San Dimas UMC and Wesley UMC in Riverside. Together, they have served in ministry in the Hawai'i District and now in the East. Pastor Monalisa is also appointed as the Conference Coordinator for the Young People's Council for the California-Pacific Conference. Her faith is rooted in Jesus' promise and invitation to "Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light." Although the Lolohea's serve at different churches, they serve one God who is their ultimate provider, sustainer, and redeemer. "We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us," and trust in God's divine direction and guidance to lead wherever he calls. Together with their beautiful baby girl, Fai'ana, they strive to do all the good they can, in all the places they can, to all the people they can, in all the ways they can, for as long as they ever can!
Rev. Dr. Dale K. Smith is pastor emeritus and a retired clergy. He is a strong support and continues to provide leadership, guidance, and support to all pastors and laity. We are blessed to have him with us, and look forward to forging new partnerships both within and outside of the TUMC circles.
